Stress is generally defined around the psychological, emotional and physical effects caused by either externally or internally generated mental pressure. Some stress is good to enhance performance. However, too much stress can be very deliberating and lead to other problems.
Prolonged or excessive stress can lead to a lowering of the immune system, making you more susceptable to getting a cold. Other effects can include; headaches, upset stomach, muscle pain and sleep problems. Indeed prolonged or excessive stress can lead to a loss of enthusiasm, a loss of confidence and feelings of low self-esteem can set in, leading to a feeling of hopelessness.
It is not a sign of weakness to admit that you are suffering from the effects of excessive stress. It is not a sign of weakness to seek professional help to manage stress better.
